Prof. Dr. Utku Buyuksahin, Ph.D., received his B.S., Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and earned an additional B.S. degree in Business Administration. He served as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering and Full Professor in the Department of Avionics. He is now the Founder and CEO of SENSOBRIGHT INDUSTRIES, primarily focused on tactile sensors and advanced mechatronic systems.
His research has been dedicated to robotics, sensor technologies, image processing, neuromodulation, and healthcare innovations. Throughout his career, he has completed more than seventy multidisciplinary projects encompassing mechanical design, manufacturing, electronics, and software development. Among these projects are the development of a 3-axis CNC milling machine, a 6 DOF Stewart Platform for 10D cinemas, vehicle simulators, an 11 DOF HEPA filter test robot, and AI-powered sway control at overhead cranes. Earlier in his career, he worked extensively on 3D modeling and animation using 3Ds Max, providing services for advertising agencies as well as leading architectural firms, large construction companies, and defense industry suppliers.
Prof. Dr. Buyuksahin has received numerous accolades, including “Innovator of the Month” and “Star of the Innovation.” He was recognized internationally, appearing on several prestigious lists such as “The 10 Smartest Personalities in the Robotics Industry,” “Most Influential Leaders to Follow,” “World’s Most Technophile Leaders to Watch,” and “World’s Top 10 Technology Executives to Watch.” He has also been featured on the covers of leading technology and business magazines, widely cited in scientific journals, highlighted in newspapers and TV news, and frequently invited to deliver talks at major conferences across the United States, Europe, and Asia. During his long-term voluntary military service, he took place as professor at the Turkish Military Academy. He authored a 496-page textbook that is still used as the official course material for three different subjects in military academies. Owing to his outstanding achievements during this period, he was awarded numerous commendation letters and rank advancements from his department and school commanders.
He holds over two hundred international patents from 8 patent families across the United States, Europe, and Japan, three of the world’s most prestigious patent systems. In addition to publishing more than twenty technical papers, he has contributed to the organization of three international conferences.
Beyond his scientific and entrepreneurial achievements, Prof. Dr. Utku Buyuksahin, Ph.D., is also an accomplished musician. As the lead guitarist of his band, he has performed in more than two hundred concerts and composed over one hundred pieces of music, many of which have been featured in radio and television advertisements.
